I walked through the door with you. And we are here together, as we always are because of the same way Taylor left her scarf in the drawer at Maggie’s house.
You left your watch in my dorm room and a t-shirt in my apartment.
After that, Jake and I, we probably did the same thing. We inhaled the perfume of new love, wondering when we might see our whole future once again.
It didn’t work out for Taylor, but YOU came back for the shirt.
And so here we are, almost three decades later, a thousand meals between us, out for another.
We converged in forgotten things, but now we are wealthy with memories, ours and those made with those we made.
