The Loyalist – The Loyalist dirty burg might be the best burger in the city, but the only way to know for sure is to try it for yourself. One thing for sure: it’s one of the only burgers in Chicago with its own snarky twitter account.

Little Bucharest Bistro – This is the last weekend to get goulash, mitetei (fat charbroiled pork sausages), and tripe soup from this Romanian gem. Owner Branko Podrumedzic is also featuring a special stuffed cabbage dish for takeout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, after which he will close the restaurant (he owns the building) to make room for a Mexican restaurant from a Frontera Grill alum.

Mrs. Murphy & Sons – Did you run out of Guinness? Good news, Murphy can deliver more. Also you can get all the British candy bars from Cadbury (don’t sleep on the buttery crisp Crunchie bar). Throw in some Guinness mac and cheese and some beef and Guinness stew and life will be a bowl of shamrocks, or whatever Irish-related stereotype you want to insert here.
Logan Square
Wyler Road – Given its size, Chicago is a little lacking in great sandwich shops, but Wyler is pretty fantastic. Check out the fried chicken or reuben. The reuben is available for carnivores and vegetarians. Don’t forget a side of their housemade chips either.

Tanta – I don’t know if you’ve been craving Peruvian, but you should. And if you’re not, you probably still need a change of pace right now. The causas or whipped peruvian potato dishes, the chaufa aeropuerto, aka pork fried rice, and a can of Inca cola will fill you will all the delicious carbs.
