The Hunger

Problematic

I imagine when some of you signed up for the The Hunger, you were like, “Oh, cool a Chicago restaurant and food newsletter! I’m in!”

And then you started reading and were like oh, it’s actually 3000 word essays from a person saying things out loud about the food world that everyone else has been thinking quietly for a very long time peppered with questionable dad jokes and homages to Vanilla Ice.

The good news even after you discovered this, most of you seem to like that and stuck with The Hunger. I appreciate every single one of you.

For the rest of you including the 6,000+ or so who lurk in the “free subscriber” territory (no judgement, I get it, financial futures are very uncertain), I’m gonna try something a little more newslettery this week like which is some quick hits on a bunch of Chicago food topics including:

1) Complaining about Chicago Magazine’s so called “Best New” restaurant list.

2) Bring you three quick mini reviews of a bunch of different spots including a great slice, some modern Korean, and an upscale middle-eastern place

As the content creators say, let’s get into it…
