Stick to Your Ribs, Chicken, Eggplant and Pho
Your twice weekly quarantine takeout and delivery guide is below:
Irving Park
Smoque – I have no idea how I haven’t featured this spot which serves the best brisket in America north of Texas, but I haven’t. Anyways, you need this, maybe some ribs, and some peach cobbler too.
Albany Park
Semiramis – This place serves some of my favorite Middle Eastern in Chicago. I always dig the roast chicken.

Bucktown, Wicker Park
Taxim – There is no flaming cheese served here, which is fine, because we don’t want you setting your kitchen on fire during quarantine. There is however, some of the finest crafted Greek food in all of Chicago. The duck gyro is a classic, and any of the dishes with roasted eggplant will blow your mind with a smoky finish.
Lakeview, Lincoln Park
The Gundis – Chicago’s, and one of America’s few, Kurdish restaurants serves a fantastic veggie stew called tirsik as well as killer red pepper and walnut-infused ezme spread.
Uptown
Pho 888 – I once ate 16 bowls of Vietnamese pho over two days. This was the best. I think it still is.
