The Five Spot: Turkey on Turkey Violence, Korean Fried Chicken, More Fried Chicken, Po Boys and Deep Fried Doughnuts
Here are your daily Chicago quarantine food takeout and delivery recs:
Lakeview, Lincoln Park
Crisp Chicago – Just when I was starting to really get down about quarantine, I realized Chicago’s greatest Korean fried chicken is still available for pick up and delivery. You want the Seoul Sassy marinade. Ask for extra on the side to dip.

Ain’t She Sweet Café – I have no idea who Steve is, but you want his sandwich featuring smoked and oven-roasted turkey, turkey ham, turkey bacon with melted cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard, giardiniera peppers on a toasted croissant.

Available anywhere (pick-up only)
Entente – They’re not open on Monday, but you’ve go to plan ahead for later this week if you want Brian Fisher’s awesome cooking, chicken tikka masala or Fried chicken or the weekend pastry package.

Lincoln Square
Jerry’s Sandwiches – I have been a fan of Jerry’s, named after Jerry Garcia, but also because it sounded like an old Jewish deli name, since they were a tiny shop in the West Loop. I have always love the po’ boys, but have never had a bad sandwich combo here.

Philly’s Best – If you’ve given up on preventing stress eating, I don’t know if there’s a better spot to break the fast. Of course the namesake Phillys are great, but almost everything here, whether wings or Philly steak-stuffed egg rolls, has a higher than average greasy spoon quality. The fried dough, aka, Dozella, drizzled with Nutella and sprinkled with bacon and almonds is incredible. If you’re from Philly and craving Tastycakes, they also have those.
