Something has become very clear to me after three years of working on The Hunger: Even though I’m about to tell you about a top-level Chicago restaurant so good I wanted to drop this post an hour after I ate there, you will probably not visit this spot.
I could do the influencer thing and give it a rating of 12/10, but again a lot of you are just gonna say, yo, Mike, I got other places to be.
I appreciate that. Many of you are looking for me to give the nod on expensive places where you’re afraid to drop top dollars if it isn’t good.
A lot of people are looking for special occasion spots they’re only going to try once.
I will write about plenty of that this year.
But one of the reasons I started The Hunger is because I wanted the flexibility to highlight amazing places that are next level that won’t get Michelin stars because they don’t fit the tire company’s required level of fuss. The place I’m about to tell you about is also, bonus, BYOB.
