The cynic in me assumes the hedge fund newspaper owners and hedge fund commercial real estate owners have a vested interest in driving foot traffic to the latters' anchors and new investments, so the lingering investments in coverage we do have are, in part, a marketing arm for country club buddies with just enough separation to avoid an undeniable conflict of interest.
