Long time reader, first time commenter, etc. At long last I tried Manchamanteles after flagging it as "someplace I need to try" (thanks to you). My god. A very nice and humble man who I now realize is/was Chef Bahena offered a sample of all three moles to me and I thought I was going to die from the flavor richness. I cannot believe more people aren't here, always. I'm going back, and back, and back.

Thanks for your words! He's such a talented guy. I think it's one of those things were a bunch of Chicagoans haven't even heard of mole they way they know pizza, burgers, etc...but if they did, they'd crave the heck out it.

Who knew Chameleonic was a word. Can’t wait for that to pop up on NYT Spelling Bee

Honestly I don't know if I did. It just sounded right. But I looked it up now and it is!

Damnit, you beat me. I am living vicariously through your writing, for now...

Good call defining which era of Traci Lords career you referred to. You could have been in real trouble. ;)

Absolutely love your introduction. Amazing piece of writing. Elvis and Don Quixote, very clever. You’ve got a gift that draws the reader in completely. It’s a pleasure to read your work.

And I will definitely be going. I’ve followed Geno Bahena and his restaurants and have dined in a few. Always a great experience and now I’ve a new one to check out. Thank you!

Thank you. I was honestly wondering if this was too much.

Not at all. Your writing can be read on a lot of different levels. And then I read again and get something I missed the first time. It’s open to interpretation too. Very clever
